I'm back with more visitors and loads of activities

Keeping up with this blog is harder than I thought.  A lot has happened since last we talked.  We have had a slew of friends from up north viisit us.  The snow and cold has gotten to them.  Dennis and Beth Peller arrived on a Friday night.  I had taught with Dennis in Michigan City before we moved to Key West.  He also taught my daughter Liz and I taught his daughter Catherine.  Don and I had a great time catching up on all the news from Michigan City.  Beth gave guest bartending a shot and her picture should be on the website somewhere.  Next we got a visit from Nancy and Greg Dickos from Novlesville, Indiana.  Nancy and I go way back to elementary school in Wabash, Indiana.  We took ballet together and then Nancy went on to open her own ballet school.  Obviously she was much better than I was.  Greg is building his own airplane in their basement.  And I DO mean airplane--not just a model, but one he will eventually be able to fly in the sky with him in the cockpit.  I marvel at his eye for detail and his ability to put something like this together.

The girls (Julie, Cindy, Nancy) and I have been enjoying the art fairs and a wonderful concert at TWFAC with Kathleen Peace, Larry Smith, Gordy Michaels, Joe Dallas, and Skipper Kripitz.  About twelve of us enjoyed Kathleen's superb singing - the best in Key West in my opinion.  Then I went to see Nancy 3 Hoffman with some teacher friends, and of course our big Teacher's Girls' Night Out at The Full Monty.  It was hysterical.  I am always amazed by the caliber of talent in this little town.  Thirty teachers from HOB and KWHS had a great dinner at Fogarty's ---they always treat us so well and then we walked on down to Waterfront.  One of the highlights of the performance was seeing our little eighth grader Harley Douvier play the son of one of the "strippers".  He was adorable and we all stayed after to have our picture taken with him.  He has a bright future in the Key West acting scene if he sticks with it.

The Key West High School Art Show will be this Thursday, March 18 in the schoo's courtyard.  It is always an incredible show. This year   Michael Truhan's Steel Drum Band  and his various other musical students will be performing as part of the show.  This town has a multitude of talented students.  Go out and support them this Thursday.  You won't be disappointed.... I promise.

Spring Break is just around the corner and I can spend a little more time at Dons' Place.  Of course we will be celebrating St. Paddy's Day on Wednesday and we have a lot more fun planned in the future.  I am working on a great idea for our new t-shirts which I am very excited about.  Stay tuned....Steph
